The moment she said break up

    TAGS: None

6 o’clock in the morning, my phone ringed and one message was received. I ignored it and continue my sleeping until 9 o’clock, because I thought that was a promotional message sent by Maxis or Hotlink.

Surprisingly, that message was sent by my (ex)girlfriend. She apologized to me, and she said that she wanted to break up with me. I was really confused by that message, how come suddenly she said like that?

I felt terrible after reading the whole message, so I called her after finished reading the message. Yet, she rejected my call, and sent me a message saying that she is having an exam. I quickly went to bath and drive to her house, because I hope that she left her mobile phone at home, and it’s her elder sisters who sent out those messages to me, I hope they praying prank with me that time. But once I reached her home, I realized I was wrong, her mum told me that she did not left her mobile phone at home.

Maxis Mobile Content Challenge 2008, Hotel Selesa Johor Bahru

    TAGS: None

Maxis Communications Berhad is the leading mobile phone service provider in Malaysia. On 23rd July 2008, Maxis held the Mobile Content Challenge’s (MCC) workshop at Hotel Selesa, Johor Bahru. MCC is the programme of Maxis Developer Programme (MDP), a programme which is created for students of Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) in Malaysia to research and use new technologies to develop real world solutions for mobile telecommunications.

Our lecturer, Mr Din encouraged us to join the competition to get some experience or meet the other competitors of the industry. As a External Content Provider (ECP), for sure I joined without second thought, together with another 3 friends of my class.

    Mr Nizam Karim

Mr Nizam Karim are giving his speech to the challengers (students).

    Mr Roslan Mohamad

Mr Roslan Mohamad, the Director of Content Development of the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) are also giving his speech.

    Wemel Cumavoo

Wemel Cumavoo giving his talk of Business, Commercial & Marketing.

I remember clearly what Mr Wemel Cumavoo said on that day, that is:
“Before you sell your product, you are actually selling yourself to the customer. So your first impression is very important, don’t simply wearing just a t-shirt or jeans to attend the seminar.”

Indeed that’s true, but somehow I am quite disagree with him on certain issue. I felt like he is beating around the bush and said our team aren’t wearing formal on that day? (Or I think too much is it? Haha…) Don’t simply judge a book by it’s cover, that’s not good. Times has changed, sometimes don’t be a stick in the mud, it is just a appearance anyway.

    The PhD student

The PhD student were asking some questions.

    Ravinder, Karthik and N.

Ravinder (left), Karthik and N (writing on the board).

    Our team.

Our team members. Karthik (left), Ravinder (middle) and N (Right).

One of our team member was absent for the workshop, hence only left the three of us. I gained a lot of information from the seminar. However, our team has given up on the competition since the times are so tight for us. We will be having our final examination soon, but thanks to Maxis for giving us the opportunity for attending the seminar. We really appreciate that.

Maxis 3G conference at Puteri Pan Pacific Hotel

Actually before attending the Maxis MCC workshop, I had attended the Maxis 3G conference at Puteri Pan Pacific Hotel on October 2005. The first meeting was held only for the Maxis Authorized Dealers or Maxis Authorized Service Agents (MASA). I got the chance to join because previously I was working in the mobile phone shop.

We were told that Maxis 3G coverage soon will arrive to Johor on January 2006, that conference helped most of the mobile phone shops a lot for the preparation of launching Maxis 3G.

    I’m on standby

So far, things are going smooth for me. I will go back to my previous occupation soon, mobile phone External Content Provider (ECP). Everything is under progress, waiting for the right time to launch it with together with some other partners and companies. ;-)
